Noona’s Ice Cream & Bakeshop officially opened its doors last Saturday at 304 E. Fifth St. in Manhattan, nestled between First and Second Avenues. The debut marks the first physical storefront for entrepreneur Hannah Bae, a Queens native who first launched her brand of Asian American-inspired ice cream flavors eight years ago.
Bae’s ice cream has since gained popularity and is sold in several New York City locations, including H Mart. The new shop offers a variety of treats, including scoops of ice cream, mini sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream cakes, along with regular cakes and other freshly baked goods made on-site.
While Bae was not present during a recent visit, store manager Shantel shared that the shop’s top-selling flavors include pandan coconut crunch, toasted rice, and the ube latte with Viet coffee.
Noona’s Ice Cream & Bakeshop is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m., with extended hours until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The location was previously home to Anna, a business run by designer Kathy Kemp, who moved her operations to the Garment District late last year.
