SEATTLE — Salt & Straw, the beloved ice cream shop known for its unique flavors, is set to open a new location in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood. The company filed permit documents for the expansion on December 23, according to records reviewed by KING 5.
The new shop will occupy a space previously home to Homegrown, a local sandwich chain that announced plans in mid-2024 to close most of its Seattle-area locations. This move marks Salt & Straw’s continued growth in the region, where it already operates three public locations in western Washington: two in Seattle (Ballard and Capitol Hill) and one in Totem Lake. Additionally, the Portland-based company has outposts inside T-Mobile Park and on the Microsoft campus in Redmond.
KING 5 has reached out to Salt & Straw for further details about the Queen Anne location, including its anticipated opening date and any unique offerings planned for the new shop. The expansion underscores the brand’s popularity and its commitment to serving the Seattle community with its artisanal ice cream creations.
