Graham’s Family Dairy has unveiled two innovative additions to its protein range, now available in 112 Lidl stores across Scotland. The new products—a high-protein ice cream and a protein-rich cottage cheese—aim to cater to the growing demand for nutritious, indulgent, and minimally processed food options.
The brand-new ice cream, available in vanilla, salted caramel, and double chocolate flavors, boasts an impressive 10g of natural dairy protein per 100g serving. With fewer than 170 calories per serving, it stands out as one of the few ice cream products in the UK to use natural dairy protein instead of plant-based or powdered alternatives. This makes it an ideal choice for health-conscious consumers seeking a guilt-free treat.
Meanwhile, the protein cottage cheese offers a substantial 30g of protein in every 200g pot, available in a natural flavor. This product builds on the success of Graham’s traditional cottage cheese, which has seen a 40% sales increase over the past year. The new line aims to meet the rising consumer appetite for high-protein, minimally processed foods.
Robert Graham, Managing Director of Graham’s Family Dairy, shared his enthusiasm for the launch: “Growing up on the dairy, ice cream was always a staple in our house. As protein becomes increasingly important in our diets, we wanted to create a product that combines indulgence with a healthy lifestyle. Our protein cottage cheese, on the other hand, was developed in response to the incredible demand for our traditional cottage cheese. Consumers are seeking high-protein options that are not ultra-processed, and we’ve seen this trend across our entire protein range.”
He added, “We’re proud to introduce two new products that not only meet these demands but are also the first of their kind to be produced in Scotland. By collaborating with Scottish family farms, we’re able to offer protein-rich options that blend health, indulgence, and quality—perfect for fueling workouts, enjoying a healthy snack, or simply treating yourself.”
The new products join Graham’s expanding protein portfolio, which includes protein pouches and confectionery pots. Last year, the protein range surpassed sales of conventional milk in major supermarkets, now accounting for over 25% of the family business’s total sales.
In addition to the ice cream and cottage cheese, Lidl is expanding its offerings with Graham’s Kefir drinks, now available in 220 stores across the UK. The retailer is also increasing the availability of Graham’s Protein 25g yogurt drinks, responding to the surging demand for convenient, on-the-go protein products and gut health-boosting options.
Andrew Shepherd, Performance Nutrition Lead at Loughborough University—an official partner of Graham’s Family Dairy—commented on the nutritional benefits of the new cottage cheese: “As the performance nutrition lead at Loughborough Sport, I am delighted to support the partnership with Graham’s Family Dairy. The new protein cottage cheese, with its high protein and calcium content, is an excellent addition to both athletes’ and fitness enthusiasts’ diets. This product not only promotes muscle recovery and bone health but also provides a convenient, nutritious option for anyone looking to maintain a balanced diet.”
With these latest additions, Graham’s Family Dairy continues to innovate in the high-protein market, offering consumers a blend of health, indulgence, and quality.
