Brooklyn-based ice cream brand Van Leeuwen has introduced a special Valentine’s Day collection featuring five new flavors, each inspired by one of the five love languages. Announced on Instagram Wednesday, the “Love Language Collection” takes a creative approach to celebrating love with ice cream, offering flavors that represent different ways people express and receive affection.
The collection includes:
Physical Touch: Hug Me Hazelnut Truffle – hazelnut ice cream with chocolate truffle pieces.
Words of Affirmation: You’re My Brown Sugar Cookie Butter – brown sugar ice cream swirled with cookie butter.
Receiving Gifts: Chocolate Strawberry Surprise – sweet cream ice cream with strawberry jam and chocolate chips.
Quality Time: Let’s Hang Out S’more – sweet cream ice cream with chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallow swirls.
Acts of Service: Blackberry Chip In – blackberry sherbet with chocolate chips.
Van Leeuwen’s Valentine’s Day flavors are available for purchase at Kroger supermarkets and affiliated stores, with the release coinciding with the Instagram announcement.
Known for its adventurous flavor choices, Van Leeuwen began as a gourmet ice cream truck in New York City in 2008 and has since expanded nationally. While the brand offers classic favorites like Honeycomb and Mint Chip, it’s also made waves with bold, unconventional flavors, such as Kraft Mac and Cheese and pizza ice cream.
Despite a few unusual releases, Van Leeuwen continues to be celebrated for its high-quality, French-style ice cream, which includes extra egg yolks for a rich texture. The brand has earned praise from both The Takeout, which named it the top vanilla ice cream brand, and The New York Times, which ranks it among the best in the industry.
