Fans of Blue Bell ice cream and Mardi Gras festivities are in for a treat as the company has brought back its beloved King Cake flavor to Louisiana stores ahead of the 2025 Carnival season. The ice cream, which has become a seasonal favorite, is available in limited quantities and has already been spotted in New Orleans.
Initially introduced in 2012, Blue Bell’s King Cake flavor was only available in regions with strong Mardi Gras traditions, such as Louisiana and Alabama. Due to high demand and positive sales, the company expanded distribution nationwide in 2019, allowing customers across the United States to experience the festive flavor.
The King Cake flavor has made its debut at several New Orleans-area grocery stores, including Rouses. Other local markets have confirmed that they are stocking the ice cream as well, including:
- Breaux Mart
- Canseco’s Market
- Robért Fresh Market
- Dorignac’s Food Center
- Langenstein’s
- Zuppardo’s Family Market
- Rivers Market
- Lakeview Grocery
The availability of the King Cake flavor may vary by location, so shoppers are encouraged to call ahead for more information.
