Cheryl and her family, who have run Kurver Kreme since 1979, made the announcement on social media, expressing their heartfelt gratitude to their loyal customers. In a Facebook post, Cheryl reflected on the deep connection the business has had with the community, saying, “This business has been more than just a place to serve ice cream; it has been a part of our family’s story, and we have been honored to be part of yours.”
Over the years, Kurver Kreme has become a beloved destination for locals, playing a key role in countless celebrations, from birthdays to first dates, and serving as a cornerstone of family traditions. Cheryl credited her parents for instilling a strong work ethic and her sons, Nick and Nate, for their commitment to the business. In recent years, Nick, in particular, had become a vital part of the operation.
Though the transition marks a bittersweet moment for the family, Cheryl expressed confidence in the future of Kurver Kreme under new ownership. The Hostig and Wagner families will take over the stand this season. Cheryl shared her hopes for the continued warmth and kindness of the community, stating, “I hope you will welcome them with the same warmth and kindness you have shown us. I will be around to help with the transition, ensuring Kurver Kreme remains the place you love.”
