NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Purity Dairy has announced it will discontinue its ice cream line, a decision made after careful evaluation by the Dairy Farmers of America. The company’s ice cream production, previously based in Athens, Tennessee, will transition to Mayfield Dairy, which will now expand its ice cream offerings at the same facility.
Despite the end of its ice cream production, Purity Dairy’s core operations, including fluid milk production at its Nashville plant, will remain unaffected.
The shift will begin in the first quarter of 2025, with all Purity Dairy ice cream products being removed from retail shelves and replaced by Mayfield Dairy ice cream items.
Dairy Farmers of America emphasized that the move will not result in any job losses.
