DELRA, NJ — Castle Harbor Restaurant and Ice Cream Shop, a beloved landmark in Delran, Burlington County, has announced that it will not reopen for the 2025 season. The iconic establishment, which has been serving customers since the 1950s, is now up for sale.
Located along St. Mihiel Drive (River Road) near several marinas, Castle Harbor was known for its picturesque setting, where patrons could enjoy ice cream while overlooking boats on the water.
Owner Jim Dapontes shared the news on Facebook, saying, “After much consideration, I have decided not to re-open Castle Harbor at this time. I have valued each of my customers and the support you have shown Castle over the years. It is impossible to express my gratitude for your loyal patronage. Any gift cards purchased will be honored.”
The closure marks the end of an era for the popular spot, which had become a staple for both locals and visitors in the area.
