A beloved ice cream spot in New Cumberland is making a comeback this spring under new ownership and a fresh name.
Faye’s Ice Cream Parlor will open its doors in March at 321 Bridge St., the former location of Hanna’s Ice Cream Shoppe, which closed in August 2024.
The new owners, lifelong friends Dustin LeBlanc and Duke Slifko, have revitalized the nostalgic 1950s-style scoop shop. LeBlanc, who is the managing director of the West Shore Theatre in New Cumberland, and Slifko, a senior project engineer at STV Inc., decided to take over the iconic location to continue its legacy of serving sweet treats to the community.
The ice cream parlor’s name honors LeBlanc’s mother, Faye, a native of Brighton Beach, New York, who was known for her love of creating desserts and sharing her passion for ice cream with her son.
True to the spirit of its predecessor, Faye’s will keep the 1950s theme alive, offering a variety of hand-dipped and soft-serve ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes, and floats, all topped with a wide selection of toppings.
Faye’s Ice Cream Parlor will operate from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and noon to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The shop plans to extend its hours during the summer months.
