However, Free Cone Day is only valid at non-mall locations. Those visiting Dairy Queen locations in malls will receive a buy-one-get-one (BOGO) deal on cones. Customers should note that the promotion is available in-store or via the drive-thru—mobile or delivery orders are excluded from the deal.
For those who have their eye on Dairy Queen’s new Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone, the treat won’t be part of the free offer. Though it’s available at participating locations, only the classic vanilla cone qualifies for the free cone promotion. Still, it’s worth considering grabbing both cones to make the most of the springtime celebration.
Additionally, Dairy Queen is offering a sweepstakes to count down the days to Free Cone Day. From March 3 to 19, customers who download the DQ app and join the DQ Rewards program will be entered for a chance to win free cones for a year. Even without winning, signing up for the rewards program offers discounts and points for future purchases, including Blizzards, shakes, and more.
If you’re looking to indulge in more free treats this spring, Dairy Queen isn’t the only spot offering deals. Rita’s Ice, which has been celebrating the first day of spring with free Italian ice for over 25 years, will also provide a free serving of Italian ice at all of its locations nationwide on March 20, with no purchase required.
