Sweet Republic, the beloved local ice cream maker, has opened its fourth location in the Valley, debuting a new shop in Old Town Scottsdale on March 7. Situated on Scottsdale Road, just south of Second Street, the shop offers Sweet Republic’s signature rotating selection of hand-crafted flavors.
In celebration of the grand opening, the new store will host a free scoop giveaway on March 22 from noon to 3 p.m. “We are very excited to have found this location in Old Town Scottsdale,” said co-founder Helen Yung in a news release. “This free scoop giveaway is our way of saying thank you for allowing us to sprinkle a little ice cream magic for customers, new and old.”
Founded 16 years ago by Yung and Jan Wichayanuparp, Sweet Republic started in Scottsdale and has since expanded to Phoenix and Tempe, gaining a loyal following for its creative, artisan flavors. The shop’s innovative desserts have earned it local and national recognition.
The new Scottsdale location offers a full menu of treats, including fan favorites like the Pecan Turtle sundae, made with Arizona pecans, hot fudge, and salted caramel, and the Campfire S’mores sundae, topped with a roasted marshmallow and served in a waffle cone bowl.
Sweet Republic continues to highlight Arizona pride through collaborations with local businesses, such as sourcing marshmallows from Gilbert’s Toasted Mallow and coffee from Valley roasters. The new shop also features a mural depicting desert scenes, further celebrating the state’s natural beauty.
For a sweet treat in the heart of Scottsdale, visit Sweet Republic’s newest location and enjoy a scoop on the house during the free giveaway event later this month.
