Guptill’s Ice Cream in Latham opened its doors before noon on Saturday, marking the start of its 2025 season and celebrating 31 years of serving the Capital Region.
The beloved local institution, known for offering 80 flavors of hard and soft serve ice cream, welcomed a crowd of eager customers for the first day of spring. Many, like the Boncaro family, arrived early, lining up 20 minutes before opening to ensure they were among the first to indulge in the sweet treats.
Manager Holly Guptill expressed excitement about the busy opening day: “We’re so excited! The people that are coming here today, the community is pouring out, kind of coming out of their burrows, because they know it’s time to taste the best ice cream in the Capital Region here at Guptill’s Ice Cream.”
To mark the new season, Guptill’s Ice Cream is set to introduce several new flavors over the next two weeks. The first addition, the Brownie Blaster Flurry, made its debut on Saturday, promising a delicious start to the spring season.
