Halo Top, a company known for its “lighter” ice cream options, is welcoming the arrival of spring by giving away 80,000 free pints. The promotion, announced on Tuesday, March 11, runs through Thursday, March 20, in celebration of International Happiness Day.
Each pint of Halo Top features mix-ins and contains just 490 calories, about half the calories found in other leading ice cream brands. Halo Top’s brand marketing director, Ryan Roznowski, highlighted the company’s mission to provide ice cream lovers with indulgence without compromise.
“Halo Top has always been about giving ice cream lovers everything they crave – all the rich, creamy indulgence of traditional ice cream without compromise,” Roznowski said. “Every bite is as satisfying as it is delicious, with lower calories and a good source of protein.”
The giveaway also marks the introduction of eight new Halo Top flavors, including chocolate chip cookie dough, caramel cookie crunch, and sweet cream cold brew. Roznowski explained that these new flavors take the experience to a new level by incorporating mix-ins in every bite, while still maintaining the brand’s signature low-calorie appeal.
In addition to Halo Top’s giveaway, other brands are also celebrating the first day of spring with free offerings. On March 20, Dairy Queen is offering a small vanilla soft-serve cone for free during its annual Free Cone Day, while Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is giving away six-ounce Italian ices as part of its spring celebration.
