A new ice cream shop, Faith’s Fabulous Treats, is set to open its doors on Tuesday at 920 W. Peru St. in Princeton, the former site of Grandma Rosie’s Sweet Treats. The new venture comes from local business owners Ashley and Mike Taylor, who are known for their work with A Second Chance Liquidation and other community-focused initiatives.
Ashley Taylor saw an opportunity to bring a similar sense of community support to the ice cream business. “My liquidation business helps my community and families, and hearing feedback about that fills my heart,” she said. “My goal is to create that same sense of connection with the ice cream shop.”
Faith’s Fabulous Treats will offer a menu full of affordable food and desserts in a family-friendly environment. The menu features a variety of combo baskets, including options such as tenderloins, burgers, gyros, barbecue, grilled pork chops, brat patties, pulled pork, grilled cheese, and Italian beef, all served with fries, cole slaw, and a drink. For children, there are combo meals with a choice of hot dog, burger, corn dog, or grilled cheese, along with chips, a small ice cream cone, and a small drink. The shop will also serve appetizers and fried sweets like funnel cake, fried Oreos, fried Snickers, and fried Milky Ways. For dessert, customers can enjoy slushies, shakes, cones, and sundaes, including specialty options. A highlight of the menu is the “Go Team Go” section, which features Princeton Tigers-themed desserts made with blue raspberry treats to reflect the high school’s colors.
The shop is named in honor of the Taylors’ daughter, Faith Neveah, who will celebrate her first birthday in June. “I instantly knew it was something I wanted to do for my daughter and hopefully it will be thriving so one day I can hand it down to her,” Ashley said.
In addition to Faith’s Fabulous Treats and A Second Chance Liquidation, the Taylors also own Taylor’s Way and Fantastic Fireworks, with locations in Princeton and Ottawa.
Faith’s Fabulous Treats will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Delivery is available by calling 815-719-6710.
