What’s Cooking: Please Come Again Ice Cream Shop Serves Up Unique Island-Inspired Flavors in Kailua

by Alice

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) — A new ice cream shop in Kailua is redefining dessert with a bold and flavorful twist. Please Come Again, founded by husband-and-wife duo Kyle and Josephine Wai Lin, offers small-batch ice cream made with local ingredients and a whole lot of aloha.

The shop’s rotating menu features an array of inventive, Asian- and Hawaii-inspired flavors, including Kaki Mochi Crunch, Roasted Strawberry, Mango Sticky Rice, Watercress Ginger Lime, and Ube Crush. There’s even a unique Shiso Mint Chip, crafted using fresh shiso from Ko Farms in Palolo Valley and rich 70% dark chocolate from Manoa Chocolate.

“Sourcing is super important to us,” said the Wai Lins during an appearance on HNN’s Sunrise Weekends. “We work with local farms and artisans to get the highest quality produce. We don’t use just any coffee—we use 100% Kona coffee from Tradition Roasters, and they only pick the top 10% of beans.”

With 16 flavors available in-store, including nondairy and vegan options, the shop also offers tasting flights so customers can sample four flavors at a time.

Located at 322 Kuʻulei Rd., directly across from Kailua Elementary School, Please Come Again is also expanding its reach through a collaboration with Potluck Hawaii at Ward Centre, where customers can purchase cups and pints.

“We like to say unreasonable amounts of love go into making our ice cream,” the owners shared. “Focusing on our community and everyday celebrations is really how we’re staying sane these days.”
