The shop, steeped in 1980s pop culture, features decor and vibes straight out of the neon-soaked decade, with nods to iconic films like The Goonies and classic arcade games such as Pac-Man. “A lot of our customers have been our best creativity, if you will,” Thrope said. “They’ll say, ‘Oh, this would be cool,’ and then all of a sudden, the wheels start turning.”

The enthusiastic response has led to exciting expansion plans. Thrope confirmed that the Totally 80s brand is in the process of opening a second location in Austintown, which is expected to launch in the near future.

With a winning mix of nostalgia and community engagement, Totally 80s Ice Cream Shoppe continues to prove that a love for the past can pave the way for a flavorful future.
