HOUSTON — Blue Bell Creameries is intensifying its efforts to determine the source of a listeria outbreak that has led to a widespread product recall and heightened scrutiny on the century-old Texas-based ice cream maker. The company announced Tuesday that it is making progress in identifying the cause of contamination, following the recall of all its products the previous day.
The recall, which has attracted significant attention, comes as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that the number of illnesses linked to Blue Bell products has risen to 10. The company continues to work closely with health authorities as it investigates the situation.
