Sharon Osbourne, the 71-year-old television personality, recently revealed her past struggles with weight loss, including her reliance on extreme diets and even resorting to consuming “two pints of ice cream” daily. Despite trying various methods, Osbourne admitted to finding ways to circumvent her weight loss efforts until she turned to the controversial drug Ozempic, which helped her shed 42 pounds. Ozempic, known as Semaglutide, is primarily used to treat Type 2 diabetes.
In an interview with Woman Magazine, Osbourne confessed to trying multiple weight loss procedures, including a gastric band and a sleeve, but noted her ability to find ways to “eat around it.” She eventually opted for Ozempic, following in the footsteps of others who found success with the medication.
However, Osbourne disclosed that she has ceased using Ozempic and has struggled to regain any lost weight, attributing some of her success to her advancing age. Despite medical perplexity over her sustained weight loss, Osbourne humorously attributed it to the natural process of aging, quipping that she is “getting older and as you get older you lose weight anyway and shrink and shrivel off.”
Describing her relationship with food as “crazy,” Osbourne candidly acknowledged turning to food for emotional comfort, admitting to a pattern of eating tied to her emotions.
While Osbourne has been open about her experiences with cosmetic procedures, including approximately 12 surgeries over the years, she expressed a newfound reluctance to undergo further surgeries following a particularly negative experience. Recounting a botched facelift that left her dissatisfied with the results, Osbourne stated that the ordeal served as a turning point, signaling an end to her cosmetic surgery journey.
Reflecting on her past cosmetic procedures, Osbourne conceded that her last surgery was “horribly wrong,” prompting her to reevaluate her choices. She described experiencing complications that affected her nose and lip, along with asymmetry in her eyes. This final ordeal led Osbourne to conclude that it was time to embrace her natural self and forego further surgical interventions, interpreting the mishap as a sign to cease pursuing cosmetic alterations.
