Consumers are urged not to consume Magnum Ice Cream Sticks amid concerns over safety, with recent recalls affecting various Magnum products.
The recall affects batches of Magnum Almond Ice Cream Sticks sold in major supermarkets such as Waitrose and Sainsbury’s. The Food Standards Agency issued a warning highlighting the potential presence of plastic or metal in these products, making them unsafe for consumption.
Unilever, the manufacturer, stated: “Unilever is recalling Magnum Almond Ice Cream Sticks, (3x100ml), because of the possible presence of plastic and metal. The possible presence of plastic and metal makes the product unsafe to eat.”
Point-of-sale notices will be prominently displayed in stores stocking the affected batches, providing consumers with additional information regarding the recall.
The affected batches, identifiable by the following details, are subject to the recall:
Pack size: 3x100ml
Batch code: L3338, L3339, L3340, L3341, and L3342
Best before end: December 2025
Consumers who have purchased the affected products are advised not to consume them and to contact Unilever’s customer care for further guidance. Unilever can be reached at 0800 146252 or via email at [email protected].
In addition to Magnum Almond Ice Cream Sticks, Magnum Classic Ice Cream Sticks are also under scrutiny. Tesco issued a warning regarding the recall of certain batches, citing potential contamination with small pieces of metal. The affected products can be returned to Tesco stores for a full refund, even without a receipt.
The safety of consumers remains a top priority for Unilever, with assurances that other Magnum products are unaffected by the recall. Unilever apologizes for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the cooperation of consumers in this matter.
