ERIE, PA – Frozen yogurt enthusiasts in west Erie and Millcreek Township will need to travel further for their favorite treat, as Pinkberry has closed its sole Pennsylvania location at 906 West Erie Plaza Drive.
The store was found empty with all signage removed on Tuesday morning. Pinkberry, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, addressed the closure on Facebook, stating, “We’re sorry about the store closure in Erie, PA. The decision to close a store lies with the individual franchisee, who operates as an independent business owner. As a brand, we dislike losing our presence in any area, and we particularly regret the impact on Pinkberry customers.”
Opened in June 2019, the West Erie Plaza Pinkberry was popular for its variety of toppings, including fresh fruit, chocolate and candy, nuts, cereal, and sauces.
With the closure, the closest Pinkberry locations are now in Detroit and Baltimore, as listed on the company’s website.
The West Erie Plaza’s management company, VCG Properties, LLC, has yet to respond regarding potential new tenants for the vacant store.
