The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) Western Region office has taken swift action against an ice cream manufacturer in Pune following a disturbing allegation. A 26-year-old doctor from Malad West reported finding a human finger in an ice cream cone purchased on Wednesday.
In response to the incident, FSSAI conducted an inspection of the manufacturer’s premises and subsequently suspended its license. “The premises of the ice cream manufacturer have been inspected by a team of FSSAI’s Western Region Office and its license has been suspended,” stated FSSAI in a statement to ANI.
However, the final forensic laboratory report on the matter is still pending.
The doctor, after making the discovery, took a photograph of the incident and shared it on the company’s Instagram page.
