Amul, a prominent dairy brand, has responded swiftly to an unsettling incident reported by a woman customer in Noida. The customer, Deepa Devi, claimed to have discovered a centipede inside an ice cream tub she ordered through an instant delivery app.
In a statement issued on Monday, Amul expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and requested Devi to return the ice cream tub for thorough investigation. “We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to her because of this incident,” stated Amul.
Highlighting the importance of retrieving the complaint pack to conduct a detailed investigation involving pack and supply chain integrity, Amul emphasized its commitment to ensuring superior quality through automated plants and stringent quality checks.
“We assure our customers of the highest standards and invite Ms. Deepa Devi to visit our plant to witness our processes firsthand,” Amul added.
Authorities in Noida have initiated their own investigation, collecting samples of Amul ice cream from the store where the tub was purchased. Amul pledged to provide updates on the investigation once they receive the ice cream tub from Devi.
The incident underscores the significance of food safety measures and vigilant quality control in consumer products.
