The Binghamton First Congregational Church continued its tradition of giving back to the community with its 12th annual Backpack and Ice Cream event on Thursday, August 22.
Residents of Binghamton gathered to enjoy an evening filled with ice cream, face painting, and music provided by a DJ. The church also distributed back-to-school supplies to help local families prepare for the upcoming school year.
Pastor Jon Haack of Binghamton First Congregational Church emphasized the church’s commitment to supporting the community, particularly local students. “It’s part of our mission to provide the kind of support that students need to succeed in school,” Haack said. “We have several schools nearby, and we make it a point to invite them every year.”
This event has become a staple in the community, offering both fun and practical assistance as families gear up for the new school year.
