Social media was abuzz on Tuesday following the appearance of a Graeter’s Skyline Chili-flavored ice cream listing on Kroger’s website. The unexpected item was characterized as a “daring fusion of flavors,” with the description noting that the ice cream is infused with chili spices, complemented by crunchy oyster crackers and shreds of cheese. This unique combination aimed to offer a “tangy contrast to the sweet treat.”
However, by Wednesday afternoon, the listing had been removed from Kroger’s site.
In a statement to The Enquirer, Sarah Sicking, vice president of marketing and brand engagement at Skyline Chili, confirmed that the chain is “excited to be working on a fun collaboration with (its) spice blend and Graeter’s ice cream.” She clarified that the collaboration is still in the research and development phase, with hopes to launch the product next year.
Sarah Walters, senior director of public relations for Rmd Advertising, which represents Graeter’s, added that the Skyline ice cream flavor “was concept art and is not available or in production.”
The Enquirer has reached out to Kroger for further comment and is awaiting a response.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the product’s availability, social media reactions poured in on Tuesday and Wednesday. Notably, U.S. vice presidential candidate JD Vance chimed in on X, stating, “President Trump and I will stop this.”
