Unilever Relocates Ice Cream Headquarters to Amsterdam, Creating 450 Jobs

by Alice

Unilever is set to relocate its ice cream division headquarters from Rotterdam to central Amsterdam, a move that will bring approximately 450 jobs to the Dutch capital, according to a report by Bloomberg.

This strategic shift aligns with Unilever’s plans to either sell or publicly list its ice cream business, which boasts popular brands such as Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum, Cornetto, and Hertog. The new offices will be situated on Reguliersdwarsstraat and are scheduled to open in the first quarter of next year.

In March, Unilever announced that the ice cream division no longer aligns with its strategic focus on “unmissably superior brands with strong positions in highly attractive categories.” The ice cream unit is notable for having five of the world’s top ten ice cream brands and generated sales of €7.9 billion in 2023.

During a presentation of the company’s Q3 results on Thursday, Chief Executive Hein Schumacher confirmed that the separation of the ice cream unit is “progressing as planned” and remains on track for completion by the end of 2025.
