MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – Nestled in the heart of Midland, Fountainville Creamery and Soda Fountain has emerged as a go-to destination for ice cream lovers, offering a unique twist by crafting all their ice cream from scratch.
Owner JP Hearn, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu with a degree in bakery and pastry arts, initially ventured into the food truck industry. “In 2008, we kind of got into the forefront of food trucks,” Hearn explained. Their journey began with a food trailer, which later transitioned to catering for the oil field sector. As the oil industry’s fluctuations affected their business, they decided to establish a permanent location.
In response to community demand, Hearn and his wife, Bev, opened Fountainville, starting with just three ice cream options. Today, the parlor features an eclectic array of flavors, including Black Gold, Cookie Monster, and Cornbread. Hearn noted, “Sometimes we just come up with a name and then figure out how to make it.”
In addition to their artisanal ice cream, Fountainville also offers a variety of custom soda combinations. Bev mixes the syrups with carbonated water at the front counter, providing customers with a personalized beverage experience.
Fountainville Creamery is located at 1307 N Loop 250 W Suite 8A in Midland. The parlor welcomes visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 12 noon to 9 p.m.
