POWELL, Ohio (WCMH) — Johnson’s Real Ice Cream is set to expand its footprint in central Ohio with the announcement of a seventh location, scheduled to open in early spring 2025. The new shop will be situated at 4290 Home Road in Powell, as revealed in a recent social media post by the brand.
Spanning 1,400 square feet, the Powell location will feature both indoor seating and a covered patio, enhancing the customer experience. This opening coincides with the company’s 75th anniversary celebration next year.
“Bringing Johnson’s Real Ice Cream to Powell represents a significant milestone in our growth,” stated Matt Wilcoxon, CEO of Johnson’s. “As we celebrate 75 years and expand our presence, our commitment remains steadfast: to honor our great-grandpa Johnson by crafting quality ice creams that bring people together.”
This new shop follows a busy year for Johnson’s, which opened three additional locations in 2024: one in Grandview Heights, another in Canal Winchester, and a third in Italian Village. The brand’s original store is in Bexley, with further locations in Dublin and New Albany.
Sean Hughes, Powell’s economic development administrator, expressed enthusiasm for the new addition, noting, “Johnson’s Real Ice Cream embodies the type of business that we work hard to attract to the city of Powell. This is a small, family-owned business that we know will grow with us and partner with our community.”
