A unique new ice cream brand, Proof Ice Cream, will make its debut at the 23rd Annual Wine Down Main Street on Saturday, November 2. Attendees can find this innovative treat at the Saint Goose wine shop, located at 134 2nd Avenue, where it will be featured as one of the tasting stations.
Proof Ice Cream was created by Jenn Randall, a former political consultant turned food entrepreneur, in collaboration with Dirk Brown, an engineer and Silicon Valley executive. Together, they developed a method to freeze alcohol, allowing them to blend it with ice cream to produce a creamy adult dessert available in six flavors. Notably, the company is woman-owned.
“We’re really excited about bringing Proof to Wine Down Main Street,” said Desiree Harbin, Wine Portfolio for Lipman Brothers, Proof’s exclusive distributor in middle and east Tennessee.
To ensure the product maintains its quality, special ultra-cold freezers are used in delivery trucks and warehouses. Once delivered, the ice cream is stored in dedicated freezers until purchased.
“It’s handled just like any other ice cream product,” Harbin explained. “It’s been a lot of fun helping everyone understand how good it is and seeing people’s reactions when they taste it. It has a creamy texture similar to gelato.”
