ATLANTA, GA – November 12, 2024 – Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream is bringing its iconic, handmade flavors to Georgia with the grand opening of its new Midtown Atlanta location. The nearly 80-year-old brand, renowned for crafting ice cream fresh daily, will officially open its doors on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Midtown Promenade, located at 931 Monroe Dr. Northeast.
To mark the occasion, the family-friendly event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on opening day, followed by the store’s public opening at 11:00 a.m. The first 100 guests in line will receive a special treat—Free Ice Cream for a Year. The weekend-long festivities will include exciting activities such as a Spin & Win wheel offering prizes, live music from a DJ, cornhole games, a photo booth, and a live radio broadcast from 680 The Fan.

The celebration continues on Friday, November 15, with the first 100 customers receiving a free Handel’s tote bag at 11:00 a.m. The weekend’s festivities will also include face painting, cornhole, and more family-friendly activities from Friday to Sunday, November 17.
In addition to its sweet treats, Handel’s Midtown store will feature unique local artwork, including murals by Atlanta-based artist Karen Anderson, founder of Tiny Doors ATL. On grand opening day, Handel’s will unveil its own Tiny Doors ATL installation, adding to the city’s renowned collection of public art at locations like the Fox Theatre and Georgia Aquarium. The partnership with Anderson is part of Handel’s broader efforts to integrate into the Midtown community, with plans for an upcoming mural created in collaboration with Midtown High School’s Art Club and the non-profit Paint Love.
