(ABC 6 News) — As fall temperatures drop, one local business is making it easy to enjoy a sweet treat while supporting a good cause. Flapdoodles Ice Cream in north Rochester is hosting a fundraiser on Tuesday, where 25 percent of the proceeds from ice cream purchases will benefit St. James Coffee.
To participate, simply mention “St. James Coffee” when ordering at the shop. The fundraiser runs all day and encourages ice cream lovers to enjoy a scoop for a good cause. As co-owner Matt Tierney put it, “It’s always a good day to hole up, watch a movie, and grab some pints and quarts of ice cream.”
St. James Coffee, a volunteer-run coffee shop, supports local nonprofits like The Landing and Project Legacy. The shop’s mission is rooted in faith, and all proceeds go toward helping these organizations.
While the fundraiser includes regular ice cream purchases, it does not apply to gift cards, ice cream cakes, or pies.
Tierney also extended an invitation to other local organizations, encouraging them to reach out if they’re interested in hosting similar fundraisers at Flapdoodles.
Flapdoodles’ north location is located at 3525 22nd Ave NW, Rochester, MN.
