LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Retta’s Scoop, a local artisan ice cream brand, will be opening its first brick-and-mortar location in the Clifton neighborhood in early 2025. The new shop, set to debut in March, will occupy a nearly 1,300-square-foot space at 2022 Frankfort Avenue, near Quills Coffee. The location was previously home to Harvey’s, an Australian restaurant and cheese shop that closed earlier this year.
Ben Deutsch, the owner of Retta’s Scoop, moved from Brooklyn, New York, to Louisville in 2023 to launch his ice cream business. The brand is known for its distinctive flavors such as Sweet Potato Pie, Fancy Toast, and Sour Dough PB&J.
Currently, Retta’s Scoop’s ice cream is available at five local retail locations, including Red Hog and Locals Food & Pizza Hub. The upcoming dessert bar will offer a physical space for fans of the brand to enjoy their unique treats.
