SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Hub City Scoops, a beloved ice cream shop in Spartanburg, announced it will close its doors for good after more than eight years of serving the community. The owner shared the news in a heartfelt post on Facebook, revealing that the shop will cease operations on November 23.
The post described the decision as a difficult one, but emphasized that it was time for a change. “This decision was not made lightly, but it is time for this change,” the message read. “I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support, your smiles, and your loyalty over the years.”
Hub City Scoops will remain open for two final days this week: Friday, Nov. 22, from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 23, from noon to 4 p.m.
In the farewell message, the owner urged the community to continue supporting local businesses. “Keep supporting local, it makes all the difference to small businesses!”
Earlier this year, Hub City Scoops was featured on FOX Carolina’s Access Carolina in a segment that showcased its impact on the local community.
For those wanting a final treat, the shop is open for one last weekend of ice cream before closing its doors.
