Car Crashes into Hillsboro Ice Cream Shop, Two Hospitalized

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two individuals were hospitalized Thursday morning after a car crashed into Jim’s Ice Cream Shop in Hillsboro, authorities reported.

Hillsboro police said the incident occurred at the intersection of Southeast 10th Avenue and Southeast Maple Street, when a car struck the ice cream shop and hit a pedestrian in the process. Both the driver and the pedestrian were transported to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The Hillsboro Fire Department also responded to the scene, stabilizing the building, which was damaged on one of its corners.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, police said.
