City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has introduced a new line of ice cream, made with fresh milk produced at its dairy farm in Lam Tsuen, Tai Po. The CityUHK Ice Cream collection is now available for purchase at the CityUHK Milk Product Counter.
The collection features six unique flavors: five regular options—Milk, Sesame, Hojicha, Yuzu, and Chocolate—and one rotating flavor, starting with Strawberry. The flavors blend classic favorites with innovative creations, offering a delightful experience for every taste.
The ice cream was officially launched during a ceremony on Valentine’s Day, adding a sweet touch to the occasion. Professor Vanessa Barrs, Dean of the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC), along with CityUHK staff and students, officiated the event.
“We are delighted to see the fruition of our farm-to-table concept in CityUHK Ice Cream,” said Professor Barrs. “Our farm is a showcase for sustainable agriculture, and it’s truly rewarding to see how its resources have been transformed into delicious ice cream, while also enriching our students’ understanding of sustainable food production and food safety.”
In celebration of the launch, CityUHK staff and students participated in a blind tasting session, allowing them to explore the unique characteristics and exceptional quality of each flavor
