Greece, NY — Bruster’s Real Ice Cream officially opened its second Rochester-area location on Monday, December 2, at 824 Long Pond Road in Greece. The new shop is situated next to a plaza that includes popular spots such as Flight West Wine & Whiskey Bar and the Great American Diner.
Owner Jay Negrin, a 1993 graduate of Greece Athena High School, oversees the operation, which employs around 18 local teenagers. Negrin opened his first Bruster’s location in September 2022 at 1930 East Ridge Road in Irondequoit.
The Greece shop offers expanded space, with a building that spans 1,747 square feet—approximately 300 square feet larger than the Irondequoit store. Additionally, the Greece location features a larger outdoor seating area, available during the warmer months. Bruster’s stores do not include indoor seating or indoor ordering.
Winter hours for the Greece location are noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday, with extended hours until 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Orders can be placed at a drive-thru with two lanes, each equipped with lighted menu boards, as well as at several walk-up windows.
Bruster’s, founded in 1989 in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania, is known for its high-quality, house-made ice cream. With nearly 200 locations across 22 states, as well as in Guyana and South Korea, Bruster’s offers over 150 ice cream recipes, with about 30 available at any given time.
The new Greece location joins the Webster shop at 1041 Ridge Road, which is owned by a different operator. Negrin, who also previously lived in Miami, Florida, where he co-owned a hair salon with his wife, Katie, is excited to be back in the area to grow his Bruster’s business and be closer to family.
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream continues to expand, bringing a favorite local treat to more communities in the Rochester region.
