CALGARY, Alberta – Baskin-Robbins has returned to Alberta with the opening of its newest store at Southcentre Mall in Calgary on December 18, 2024. The new location marks the brand’s first presence in the province in seven years, following a hiatus. It is also the sixth shop to open as part of a strategic expansion agreement between Baskin-Robbins and McMaster Group Holdings, which is focused on increasing the company’s footprint in the Calgary and Vancouver markets.
Adel Ashry, the franchisee of the new location and head of McMaster Group Holdings, expressed excitement about bringing the beloved ice cream brand back to Alberta. “I am honoured to have a role in bringing this iconic brand back to Alberta, and especially to the vibrant city of Calgary,” Ashry said. “Baskin-Robbins has a longstanding reputation for quality and innovation, and I’m proud to be part of a brand that has brought joy to millions of customers around the world.”
The Calgary store features an updated interior design that is part of a nationwide revamp being rolled out across all 116 Baskin-Robbins locations in Canada. This new look includes bright and inviting spaces, comfortable seating, animated digital menu boards, and an expanded cake display called “The Cakery,” offering a growing selection of customizable cakes and pre-packaged treats.
Located at 100 Anderson Rd SE, Calgary, AB, the new Baskin-Robbins store is conveniently situated at the intersection of Macleod Trail and Anderson Road. Customers can explore the full range of the company’s signature ice cream flavors, as well as its variety of frozen desserts.
Baskin-Robbins, which first opened in the United States in 1945, has been serving Canadian customers for over 53 years. With more than 7,700 locations globally, the brand is the largest chain of ice cream specialty shops in the world, operating 116 stores across Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, British Columbia, and now Alberta. Baskin-Robbins is part of the Inspire Brands family of restaurants.
