Dairy Queen has announced the highly anticipated return of its fan-favorite S’mores Blizzard in 2025, sparking excitement among ice cream enthusiasts everywhere.
The popular treat, which first debuted in 2013, was chosen by fans in a recent poll conducted by Dairy Queen to determine which flavor would make a comeback for the summer. The S’mores Blizzard triumphed over other classic flavors, including Georgia Mud Fudge and Cappuccino Heath, in a vote that concluded on December 19.
The S’mores Blizzard is a campfire-inspired delight, featuring Dairy Queen’s signature vanilla soft serve mixed with mini marshmallow-filled chocolate bars, fluffy marshmallows, and crunchy graham cracker bits. Even Dairy Queen’s CEO, Troy Bader, has named it one of his personal favorites.
Following the announcement on Instagram, fans flooded the comments section with expressions of excitement, further fueling the frenzy surrounding the treat’s return. The vote, which was conducted through the DQ app, allowed fans a week to decide which flavor would emerge from the DQ Freezer, a vault of over 170 retired Blizzard varieties.
While Georgia Mud Fudge, with its brownie chunks and pecan pieces, and Cappuccino Heath, combining coffee and toffee flavors, also gained support, the S’mores Blizzard proved to be the clear winner.
The beloved Blizzard flavor is slated to reappear in April 2025 as part of Dairy Queen’s summer lineup, providing the perfect way to sweeten up the upcoming season.
The return of the S’mores Blizzard follows a broader trend in the fast-food industry, where chains like Panera and McDonald’s have brought back popular menu items in response to customer demand. The revival of this iconic Blizzard flavor serves as a reminder that some of the most cherished treats are worth revisiting.
