SIOUX CITY, IA — A new ice cream destination is set to open in the heart of downtown Sioux City. The Scoop’s Udder Place will officially launch on Thursday, January 9th, offering more than 20 flavors of homemade ice cream.
Owner Jason Shiffer has big plans for the space, aiming to make it more than just an ice cream shop. He envisions The Scoop’s Udder Place as the “ultimate party place.”
“Our upstairs loft area is a unique feature that was part of the old theater room,” Shiffer explained. “You can rent it out for events, and we’ll have games, including nearly 1,000 games available on the TV. Plus, there will be a multicade, pinball machine, and air hockey—all at no cost.”
The shop is located in the Re-Max City Center on 4th Street. The goal is to add more entertainment to the downtown area and collaborate closely with the Re-Max Theater.
Jeff Carlson, owner of the Re-Max City Center, expressed enthusiasm about the new venture, highlighting its potential to fill a gap in Sioux City’s downtown scene. “We’ve been missing a vintage ice cream shop in this area. This isn’t your typical ice cream shop, and with the events and collaborations we’ll host, it’s a perfect addition to our city center,” Carlson said.
The Scoop’s Udder Place will host its grand opening at 3:00 p.m. on January 9th.
