SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A new blast-from-the-past experience has arrived in downtown Sioux City with the grand opening of Scoops Udder Place, an ice cream soda shop located in the newly reimagined RE/MAX City Centre on 4th Street.
The shop, which opened its doors on Thursday, offers a menu featuring homemade ice cream, milkshakes, and other classic treats, all served in a setting designed to transport customers to a bygone era. The unique concept combines a vintage aesthetic with local history, creating an immersive experience for both Sioux City residents and visitors.
Jeff Carlson, owner of RE/MAX City Centre, emphasized the shop’s nostalgic appeal. “They wanted to have an immersive experience,” Carlson told KCAU 9. “Not just a cool throwback vintage shop that pays homage to Sioux City, but also an event space filled with artifacts. It’s almost like stepping back in time with all the antiques, games, and other elements that bring the past to life.”
The shop is just the beginning of what Carlson has planned for the space. By summer, an expanded building and an outdoor patio are expected to open, offering even more opportunities for guests to enjoy the retro vibe.
The opening of Scoops Udder Place marks another step in the revitalization of downtown Sioux City, blending modern development with a celebration of the city’s rich history.
