WESTFIELD, NJ — The Baked Bear, a popular ice cream sandwich shop based in San Diego, California, is set to open its first Union County location in Westfield this winter. The new shop, located at 18 Elm St., is expected to welcome customers as early as mid-February or March, according to a company spokesperson.
The Westfield location marks the brand’s fifth outpost in New Jersey and its first in Union County. The site was previously occupied by Cinnaholic, a gourmet cinnamon roll bakery.
Known for its customizable ice cream sandwiches, The Baked Bear offers guests the chance to create their own unique treats. Customers can choose from over a dozen freshly baked cookies or brownies for the sandwich layers and pair them with their favorite ice cream flavors. The shop has gained a reputation for its indulgent, made-to-order desserts.
In addition to the upcoming Westfield location, The Baked Bear has established a presence in other New Jersey areas, including Asbury Park, Long Branch, and a food truck operating along the Jersey Shore. A new location in New Brunswick is also in the works.
The arrival of The Baked Bear is expected to bring a sweet new option to Westfield’s dining scene, offering residents a chance to enjoy its signature oversized ice cream sandwiches just in time for spring.
