Pebbles cereal enthusiasts have something new to look forward to in 2025, as two exciting ice cream flavors make their debut in celebration of the iconic brand’s 50th anniversary. Starting this February, Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles will be available in ice cream form at retailers nationwide.
The Fruity Pebbles light ice cream brings the nostalgic taste of the beloved cereal to the frozen dessert world. It features a fruity cereal milk base, with rice cereal bits coated in colorful fruity flavors, complemented by a fruity swirl. Meanwhile, Cocoa Pebbles light ice cream combines both chocolate and cereal milk ice cream, swirled together with chocolate-flavored rice cereal pieces.
Post Holdings Inc., the parent company behind Pebbles, promises that these new offerings are a lighter alternative, with half the fat and one-third fewer calories than traditional ice cream. Each two-thirds cup serving contains just 150 calories. The ice creams will be sold in 48-ounce containers for a suggested retail price of $5.99, while the Fruity Pebbles flavor will also be available in a smaller 14-ounce container for $2.99.
Amy Brothers, executive at Post Consumer Brands, expressed excitement about the new launch, highlighting how the ice creams capture the essence of enjoying the leftover milk from a bowl of Pebbles cereal. “Fans of Fruity and Cocoa PEBBLES cereal who also savor the milk at the bottom of their bowls are going to love these new Fruity and Cocoa PEBBLES™ light ice creams,” she said. “We thought it would be fun to churn fans’ favorite flavors into a frozen treat that will take the PEBBLES™ cereal eating experience to a new level.”
The new products will be available in major retailers such as Dollar General, Albertsons, Safeway, Kroger, and Walmart throughout 2025.
Pebbles cereal, launched in 1971 after Post secured licensing rights from Hanna-Barbera (the creators of The Flintstones), was the first-ever cereal brand created around a TV show character. The cereal, named after Fred and Wilma Flintstone’s daughter, has remained a staple for both kids and adults for decades, spurred on by the continued popularity of The Flintstones, which aired from 1960 to 1966 and remains a beloved part of television history.
The release of the new ice cream flavors is part of a broader effort by the Pebbles brand to expand into new product categories. Recent additions include Pebbles Crisps, as well as collaborations with International Delight for coffee creamers and Duncan Hines for baking kits.
With the 50th anniversary of Pebbles marked by these new frozen delights, fans can celebrate the brand’s rich history and enjoy a refreshing twist on a classic favorite.
