Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is preparing to enter the Nashville market, according to recent permit filings. The ice cream chain intends to carry out interior renovations at 1200 Villa Place #113, marking its first venture into Tennessee.
Founded in 2008 by Ben and Pete Van Leeuwen alongside Laura O’Neill, the company began as a yellow truck in New York City. Van Leeuwen Ice Cream prides itself on using simple, high-quality ingredients, such as milk, cream, eggs, and cane sugar, to craft a variety of flavors. The brand also caters to vegan customers with a selection of plant-based options.
“Good is choice ingredients. Even if we have to go to Mount Etna to get them,” states the company’s website, highlighting its commitment to purity in its recipes. “Good is simple ingredients. If it’s tough to pronounce, it’s probably tough to digest. Good is harmonious ingredients. We seek to satisfy omnivores and vegans alike. This is our way. The good way. The Van Leeuwen way. Not just the best way to make ice cream, but to live.”
With over 70 locations across eight states and Washington, D.C., Van Leeuwen is also set to expand into Florida in the near future. However, the Nashville location will mark the company’s first in Tennessee.
While the timeline for opening remains unclear, What Now Nashville reached out to company representatives for more details, but had not received further information by the time of publication.
