As the world’s best figure skaters prepare to compete in Boston this spring, J.P. Licks is celebrating the upcoming ISU World Figure Skating Championships with a special new flavor. The Massachusetts-based ice cream chain has launched The World’s Swirl, a blue cake batter ice cream with a marshmallow swirl, in honor of the event.
This exclusive flavor is the result of a collaboration between J.P. Licks and The Skating Club of Boston, the local organizing committee for the championships. Doug Zeghibe, CEO and Executive Director of The Skating Club of Boston, expressed excitement about the partnership, saying, “We are thrilled to work with an iconic local company like J.P. Licks on this perfect skating treat. We have no doubt that skating fans from around the world will delight in one of Boston’s finest offerings.”
The World’s Swirl will be available at J.P. Licks locations through March 30, the final day of the competition. Vincent Petryk, founder and owner of J.P. Licks, added, “We are excited to partner with the 2025 ISU World Figure Skating Championships on this exclusive flavor. It’s an amazing experience to be part of an event that brings so many athletes from around the world to Boston.”
Founded in 1981, J.P. Licks operates 17 locations across Massachusetts, with all ice cream made at its Jamaica Plain headquarters. The company also ships its products nationwide.
The Skating Club of Boston, a nonprofit and founding member of U.S. Figure Skating, plays a key role in advancing the sport by offering training programs and organizing competitions. The ISU World Figure Skating Championships, taking place from March 25-30 at TD Garden, will be the latest prestigious figure skating event to be hosted at the venue. TD Garden previously hosted the 2014 U.S. Figure Skating Championships and the 2016 ISU World Figure Skating Championships.
