A recall has been issued for two popular flavours of Cheshire Farm Ice Cream due to the presence of undeclared hazelnuts, posing a potential health risk to individuals with nut allergies.
The affected products—Caramelized Biscuit Ice Cream and Biscoff Ice Cream—are being pulled from the shelves after it was discovered that hazelnuts were included in the ingredients, but not mentioned on the packaging.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a warning advising consumers who have purchased these ice creams to avoid consuming them. Affected batches include:
Biscoff Ice Cream (1L):
- Batch Codes: L23139, L23261
- Best Before Dates: 19 November 2024, 18 March 2025
Caramelized Biscuit Ice Cream (1L):
- Batch Code: L24150
- Best Before Date: 29 November 2025
Consumers with nut allergies are advised to return these products to the store for a full refund. The recall notice specifies that these ice creams are not affiliated with the Lotus Biscoff brand, and no Biscoff products are involved. Lotus Bakeries has confirmed it is not associated with these products in any way.
Cheshire Farm acknowledged the issue, explaining that the ice creams were recalled due to the presence of hazelnuts in an ingredient sourced for the flavours.
For more details on product recalls and withdrawals, the FSA urges consumers to refer to their notices and guidelines, which inform local authorities and the public about any food safety concerns.
