LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Bruster’s Real Ice Cream has officially opened its doors in Lynchburg, bringing a new destination for sweet treats to the Hill City.
The new shop, located in the former TGI Friday’s building on Timberlake Road, welcomed its first customers Thursday. As part of the grand opening, local residents got an exclusive preview of the ice cream-making process and had the opportunity to sample some of the delicious offerings on Good Morning Virginia.
Bruster’s, originally founded in the Pittsburgh area, has expanded to numerous locations along the East Coast. The Lynchburg branch is the latest addition to this growing network.
All of Bruster’s ice cream is made fresh daily in-house, with over 150 milk-based flavors available, including lactose-free options. For those who prefer non-dairy options, there are also 50 varieties of sorbets, sherbets, and Italian ices.
In addition to its ice cream, Bruster’s offers a range of artisan desserts made to order. These include freshly crafted waffle cones and bowls, customized sundaes, candy-filled blasts, ice-cold freezes, and thick milkshakes.
For those who frequent the shop, Bruster’s also offers a Sweet Rewards loyalty program, accessible through a QR code provided at the store.
