HOUSTON — Blue Bell Creameries is under mounting pressure following a sweeping product recall as the century-old Texas-based ice cream company works to identify the source of a deadly listeria outbreak.
A day after recalling all of its products, Blue Bell announced Tuesday that it is making progress in tracing the contamination. Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that the number of illnesses linked to the company’s ice cream has risen to 10.
The outbreak has intensified concerns over food safety, with health officials continuing to investigate how the bacteria entered Blue Bell’s production process.
