Maine – March 13, 2025 – As spring begins to settle in, Maine’s beloved ice cream stands are reopening for the season, signaling the return of warm weather favorites. Gifford’s Ice Cream and Lib’s Dairy Treats have both announced their plans to open this week, drawing excited crowds as they celebrate the season’s arrival.

Gifford’s Ice Cream, a staple in Maine, will kick off its seasonal return with its Bangor location opening this Friday, March 15. Following that, the Waterville location will reopen on Friday, March 21, and the Skowhegan stand will follow on Friday, April 4. All three locations will operate daily from noon to 8:30 p.m. Notably, the Waterville stand will mark its 35th anniversary this year, while the Skowhegan stand celebrates 45 years in business.

Meanwhile, Lib’s Dairy Treats, a soft-serve institution in Portland’s North Deering neighborhood, will open its doors for the 56th season this Saturday, March 15.
