NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Herrell’s Ice Cream has concluded its annual “What’s Your Flavor Idea?” contest, showcasing the creativity of its customers who submitted their most innovative flavor ideas. With over 200 entries from the Amherst and Northampton locations, the competition proved to be a tight race.
After several weeks of testing and taste-testing, the winners have been announced. The Amherst location’s top pick, Deconstructed Dubai Chocolate Bar, was created by Daniela Loya. Meanwhile, the Northampton location saw a tie between White Chocolate Matcha Raspberry, submitted by Lisa Lesure, and White Chocolate Matcha Raspberry from Janelle Kennick.
Herrell’s Ice Cream owner, Judy Herrell, personally sampled and evaluated each submission. “They were so imaginative,” Herrell commented. “It was exciting.”
As prizes, Loya, Lesure, and Kennick will receive a Quartet of Herrell’s Hot Fudge, a Herrell’s T-shirt, and, of course, the honor of having their flavor ideas featured. This contest is just one example of Herrell’s ongoing effort to engage with the community and involve customers in the creative process behind the ice cream shop’s beloved flavors.
