LITITZ, Pa. — Isabella’s Ice Cream Parlor, a beloved fixture in downtown Lititz for the past 15 years, is closing its doors, making way for a new tenant — the second location of 32 Below Ice Cream Shop.
Kim and Bob Reidenbaugh, the owners of Isabella’s, announced that they are stepping down to spend more time with family and enjoy some travel. Kim expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve the community, noting that she will miss interacting with customers the most. “My favorite thing was seeing everyone so happy to be there—talking with them, hearing how their day was going. People come for ice cream when they are celebrating or feeling sad. It always makes the day better!” she said.
The Reidenbaughs are confident that Kate and Brad Zimmerman, who are taking over the space, will be a great fit for the location. Kim noted that the Zimmermans share her commitment to customer service and quality, both of which are essential to the ice cream business. “They feel customer service and great product is top priority. I think they will do well and keep the location a downtown destination,” she added.
Brad and Kate Zimmerman, who both grew up in Lititz, are no strangers to the area. Since 2022, they have operated a successful ice cream shop in Bricker Village, which currently only offers outdoor seating. The new East Main Street location will feature indoor seating, providing a new experience for customers. Brad shared his excitement about expanding their business in their hometown, calling it a natural progression for their brand. “It’s exciting to be able to invest in Lititz, and the downtown location offers both convenience and fun for our customers,” he said.
Brad, who has long dreamed of owning an ice cream shop, emphasized that the business is about more than just serving frozen treats. “I love ice cream, but I’m also proud of how 32 Below creates a positive working environment with a great team of employees,” he explained. “We’re especially proud to offer jobs to younger people and support them as they begin their careers.”
As Isabella’s prepares to close, the Reidenbaughs will host a “farewell opening” during the last two weeks of March before the Zimmermans take over in April.
