Cremades Ice Cream Parlour Reopens in El Palo with Fresh Look and Year-Round Plans

Malaga, Spain – Popular ice cream brand Cremades has officially reopened its parlour in the El Palo district of Malaga, unveiling a refreshed look and announcing plans to remain open year-round.

Located at 256 Avenida Salvador Allende along the seafront, the parlour first opened its doors in 1992. Recent months have seen a significant renovation, introducing a modern blue and cream interior with wooden furnishings. The façade now features striking dried floral decorations, enhancing the parlour’s updated aesthetic.

The business is operated by siblings Paloma and Juan Luis Cremades, the second generation of the family to manage the company. In addition to the El Palo parlour, they also own another location in nearby Pedregalejo, which underwent a similar refurbishment last year.

Year-Round Service and New Flavours

Paloma Cremades confirmed their intention to keep the El Palo location open throughout the year, following the success of the Pedregalejo branch, which remained open all winter. “It’s a risk we’re willing to take now that we have fully renovated the shop,” she explained.

This season, the parlour will offer around 30 flavours, including classic favourites such as meringue milk, blackberry, and vanilla, all made using their father’s original recipes. The company also plans to introduce two or three new flavours, with final selections currently under evaluation by the team.

Helados Cremades employs 20 staff members during the summer months to accommodate high customer demand.

Grand Reopening Event

To celebrate the relaunch, an opening party was held on Wednesday, March 19, featuring live music, cocktails, and sparkling wine from the Axarquía region. A local urban artist created a graffiti artwork that will be auctioned for charity, with proceeds benefiting the Nena Payne foundation. Five waiters from the association’s ‘Súper Currantes’ program also participated in the event, highlighting the company’s commitment to community initiatives.

Future Expansion Plans

Looking ahead, the Cremades siblings are considering further expansion. While still in the early planning stages, they are exploring the possibility of opening a new parlour in Malaga’s city centre. One potential location under consideration is the Molinillo neighbourhood, where their father first began his career as an ice-cream maker. “It would be a beautiful way to return to our roots,” they noted.

As Cremades continues to evolve, its commitment to quality, tradition, and innovation remains at the heart of its success.
